The genesis of megacities in the context of the evolution of urban concepts
Abstract
The article examines the consequences of the impact of globalization transformations and changes on the formation of cities and urban formations in general, on the change of the criteria base for determining the status of cities, the concepts of the emergence of global and world cities, as well as the impact of agglomerations on the development of megacities.The basis for this study was the works of researchers and sociologists of the past centuries.
